What's the difference between L.O.T Cars and L.O.T Build?
L.O.T Cars are remote-controlled and battery-powered. L.O.T Build are wooden kits you assemble by hand, with no motor and no battery. Cars are for driving. Build is for building.
L.O.T Cars — RC drift cars, off-roaders, construction machines, a bus and a train, from ₹1,249 to ₹8,799. Every one arrives tested and pre-charged, runs on a 2.4GHz controller with up to 100 m of line-of-sight range, and is built to be repaired rather than replaced.
L.O.T Build — laser-cut wooden kits that slot together with no glue and no tools, from ₹499 to ₹2,999. The Hogwarts house crests, the Colosseum, the Garage and the Harry Potter figure kits. Nothing to charge, nothing to break, and it stays on the shelf when it's finished.
Buying for someone who wants to play, choose Cars. For someone who enjoys the making, choose Build. They also pair up — the Garage is designed to display 1:64 cars.
Choosing an RC car
Which L.O.T drift car should I buy? Shadow, Ghost, Flare, Night Wolf or Vortex?
They share a platform — 1:24 scale, 4WD, about 20 km/h, brushed motor, 2.4GHz with 100 m range, and swappable drift and grip tyres in every box. Three things actually differ: the shell, the steering, and the tyres.

Choose Ghost if it's going to get crashed. The flexible PVC shell is the toughest thing we make — it flexes instead of cracking, which matters for a younger driver or a first RC car.
Choose Shadow or Flare if you want to actually learn to drift. Proportional steering means the wheels follow how far you turn the wheel, not just left-or-right, and the thicker tyres hold a cleaner line. Together that's meaningfully finer control.
Every car has a body design unique to it — we never reuse a top. All of them run underbody lighting plus front and rear LEDs; Shadow and Flare share a lighting layout, Ghost and Vortex differ (Vortex has pop-up headlights).

What scale RC car should I buy?
L.O.T Cars come in 1:64, 1:24, 1:20, 1:18, 1:16 and 1:14. Larger scales are more stable outdoors; smaller ones are easier indoors and cost less.
1:64 desktop minis (Dash, Nitro, Mac) fit a table or a desk. 1:24 is the drift range (Shadow, Flare, Ghost, Night Wolf, Vortex) and suits smooth indoor floors. 1:20 and larger is off-road — Roxie, Knox, and the 1:14 to 1:18 high-speed 4x4s for outdoors.
How fast can an RC car go?
L.O.T Cars run from about 10 km/h to 40+ km/h depending on the model.
The 1:64 desktop minis sit around 10 km/h for indoor use, the 1:24 drifters run about 20 km/h, and the 4x4 high-speed range — Apex, Doughty and Gazer — reaches 40+ km/h. Speed comes from the motor, battery voltage and gearing: our high-speed cars run a 7.4V pack, the rest run 3.7V. Faster is not automatically better — a 20 km/h drifter is far easier to control on a smooth indoor floor than a 40 km/h off-roader.
Which is better, brushed or brushless motors?
Brushed motors are simpler, tougher and far cheaper to service, which is why every L.O.T Cars model uses one.
Brushless motors reach higher top speeds but need a matched ESC, cost considerably more, and cannot be repaired at home. We build for a hobby you can keep running: a brushed motor is serviceable, spares are easy to arrange, and it handles the dust, kerbs and living-room walls that RC cars actually meet. Our high-speed 4x4 range reaches 40+ km/h on brushed motors, and Doughty runs two of them.
What age are L.O.T RC cars for? Can a 5-year-old use one?
Yes. L.O.T Cars are labelled 4+ years.
For children, the 1:24 drift cars are the right pick — Shadow, Vortex and Ghost are all good options: around 20 km/h, easy to control, and happy on smooth indoor floors. The 1:64 desktop minis, despite their size, are aimed at grown-ups — desk companions for the office crowd. The 40+ km/h 4x4s suit an older child or an adult. Every product is BIS compliant, with the certificate number printed on the box.
Are RC cars just for kids?
No — a large share of our customers buy for themselves.
The hobby-grade 4x4 range, the drift cars and the 1:64 desktop collection are built for adults as much as for children: proportional throttle and steering, real suspension, swappable tyres and serviceable parts. If you're buying as a gift for an adult, the Legend's Edition and the high-speed 4x4s are the usual choices.
Running your car
What surface is best for drifting?
Smooth and hard — tile, wood, polished concrete or a smooth garage floor. Carpet will stop a drift car.
Fit the drift tyres for slide and the grip tyres for traction; both sets are in the box. Off-road models are the opposite — Knox, Bumble, Roxie and the 4x4 range are built for grass, gravel, sand, mud and uneven ground.
Can my RC car get wet? Is it waterproof?
No. Most RC cars are not waterproof, and very few are even water resistant — ours are not sealed.
A little water on the ground is completely fine and won't cause a problem. What matters is that water must not get inside the motor. A submerged car may stop working, because water can get in and short the motor. Drive through a damp patch or a puddle if you like; don't drive it into standing water, and dry it off afterwards.
How long does it run, and how long does it take to charge?
Run times and charge times vary by model — each product page lists its own.
As a guide, most L.O.T cars charge in 60 to 90 minutes. The 1:64 desktop minis are quicker at 30 to 45 minutes. The high-speed 4x4s take longest because they carry a larger 7.4V pack — Doughty about 2 hours, Apex and Gazer about 3. The 1:24 drift cars run about 30 minutes on a charge. Always start from a full charge; output drops as the pack drains, and the car will slow before it stops.
How do I make my RC car faster?
Most of the gain is in the surface, the tyres and a full battery, not in new parts.
Switch to the grip tyres for traction or the drift tyres for slide, run on a smooth hard floor, and start from a full charge. If you want genuinely more speed, move up a model rather than modifying one — our cars aren't designed for motor or ESC swaps.
Can several cars run at the same time?
Yes. Every L.O.T car uses 2.4GHz control, which pairs each car to its own remote automatically.
Multiple cars can run in the same room without interfering with each other. Range is up to 100 m, line of sight.
First run and troubleshooting
My new car won't move. What do I check first?
Four things, in this order: the car's battery, the remote's batteries, pairing, and the speed mode.
- Charge the car fully. It doesn't ship fully charged. When the pack is low, the protection circuit lets the car steer but not drive forward or backward — so a car that turns but won't move is usually just flat.
- Check the remote's batteries — and check they're the right way round. Reversed (+/−) batteries are one of the most common reasons a remote appears dead. This is genuinely our most frequent "faulty" report, and it isn't a fault.
- Pair the car and remote. Switch the remote on first, then hold the car's power button. Don't touch the throttle while they pair — the lights flash during pairing and go solid when it's done.
- Check the speed mode. In low mode the car is deliberately slow.
If it still won't move after all four, contact us and we'll sort it.
The car and remote won't pair. What now?
Switch the remote on first, then the car, and keep your hands off the throttle while they connect.
Pulling the throttle during pairing stops it completing — that's the most common cause. If the light keeps flashing quickly, move away from other 2.4GHz devices, check both sets of batteries are fresh and correctly seated, then power both off and try again from the beginning.
My car's battery won't charge
Check the cable and the port first, then how long it's been on charge.
Use the supplied USB cable into a 5V 0.5–2A source — a phone charger, power bank or computer port. The indicator light flashes while charging and goes solid when it's full. High-speed models take 2–3 hours, so a car that isn't ready after 30 minutes usually just needs longer. If the light never changes, the cable or the pack may be faulty — that's covered, contact us.
The steering pulls to one side
Use the steering trim dial on the remote.
With the car on the ground and the throttle untouched, turn the trim until it tracks straight. Doing this on carpet or an uneven surface will give you a false setting.
L.O.T Build kits
Do I need glue or tools?
No. Every L.O.T Build kit is laser-cut to slot together by hand. No glue, no tools, nothing to buy.
How long does a Build kit take?
From about 30 minutes to around 3 hours, depending on the kit.
The Garage is roughly 30 minutes across 10 pieces. The Colosseum is the biggest at 321 pieces and about 3 hours, built in four stages: foundation, arena, tiers and outer arcade. The Harry Potter figure kits and house crests sit between the two.
What age are the Build kits for?
4+ for the garages, 6+ for the figure kits, 8+ for the Colosseum, 14+ for the collector pieces.
The limit is complexity rather than safety — a younger child who enjoys making will manage with a hand. The Hogwarts house crests are collector's editions and are 14+. The Colosseum is 8+ at 321 pieces — the difficulty is time, not skill. The Garage and the Bat Garage are 4+.
Can I display it when it's built?
Yes — that's the point. The Hogwarts house crests include a wooden display stand with a numbered plate. The Garage is designed to hold and light 1:64 cars, which makes it the natural bridge between L.O.T Build and L.O.T Cars.
Drones
How long does the Wisp fly?
6 to 8 minutes on a charge. Keeping a second battery charged is the usual way to extend a session. See the L.O.T Aviation Wisp.
Do I need to register a drone with DGCA in India?
No — not for the Wisp. It's under 250 g and toy grade, so recreational flying doesn't require DGCA registration. Normal rules still apply: keep it in sight, and stay away from airports, government buildings and crowds.
Does the Wisp have FPV?
No. The Wisp is an entry-level drone and doesn't offer first-person view.
Support, spares and repairs
Do you offer a warranty?
We offer something better suited to a hobby product: lifetime support.
Whatever goes wrong, and however long you've had it, reach out to us and we'll help you get it running again. If a part wears out or breaks — tyres, bodies, battery packs — our Customer Success team will arrange a replacement for the life of the product, so a worn or broken part means a replacement part, not a replacement toy. If something arrives damaged, or a part is missing from the box, contact us and we'll sort it.
